Lee Connor Papers 1973-1996

This collection houses papers and recordings from the files of late UNM Dance Department chair Lee Connor. It contains records of the UNM Dance Department, including a brief history, and articles, news clippings, awards, performance programs, photographs, and audio and video tapes documenting Connor’s career as a dancer, dance educator, and choreographer. A pair of Connor’s ballet shoes is also included.

Lee Connor was born October 21, 1947, in Derry, New Hampshire. He was a professor of Dance at UNM from 1976 until his death in 1987. At the time of his death he was the coordinator of the Dance Program of the Department of Theatre and Dance. He held a BA in English with a minor in Theatre from the State University of New York at Binghamton and earned his MA in Fine Arts from New York University School for the Arts in 1976.
